Gözde Kılıç is a researcher specializing in literary and cultural studies, with a particular focus on the history of sexuality, emotions, and the self in the modern Middle East. She is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the European University Institute. She is currently visiting the Department of History at CEU as a CIVICA scholar to conduct collaborative research with Prof. Nadia Al-Bagdadi, exploring Freud's legacy in Iran, Turkey, and the Arab World.
 
This marks her second visit to the department. During her initial visit, she authored a paper exploring the concept of lovesickness in the late Ottoman and early Turkish Republic, illustrating the transformation of Turkish perspectives on love throughout the modernization process.
